University of Scranton students: Learn how to reach target markets online and gain experience using social media platforms in a business setting by assisting the SBDC with marketing and social media!

The Marketing & Social Media Intern will play an active role in working with staff to maintain the digital presence for The University of Scranton SBDC, including our website, blog, and various social media platforms. The intern will assist with sourcing, creating and publishing relevant content and developing ideas for additional growth.

Logistics:

• Fall 2018, September start, 10 weeks
• On campus location
• 10-15 hours per week
• $10/hour

Qualifications:

• Must be current University of Scranton student 
• Understanding of basic principles of marketing and public relations
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media platforms (including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn)
• Experience with Microsoft applications, basic photo and video editing software/apps, and design tools/apps such as Canva
• Detail oriented with highest level of written communication skills, strong editing skills

Projects:

• Assist staff in increasing the SBDC’s following on social networks
• Perform research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our target markets and post it on our social media with a goal of creating engagement
• Take pictures and videos of SBDC activities & events to be developed into content for SBDC social media platforms
• Research and write articles for e-mails and blogs
• Develop an editorial content calendar
