Develop and grow your marketing and communications skillset with an internship at The Chamber. Interns will work on various projects, including public relations, content creation, social media marketing, and more!

OBJECTIVE: Interns in the marketing and communications division of The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce will learn how to apply classroom-learned skills in a real-life business setting, working with the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Communications Manager.

• Winter 2023/Spring 2024 may continue through Summer/Fall if desired.
• Flexible schedule within Chamber operational hours
• $12.50/hour
• Up to 18 hours a week
• Downtown Scranton, PA
• Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis

We are looking for the following:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong understanding of social media platforms
• Strong time management
• Creative, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
• Photo, video, and/or design skills are a plus

Expected projects:

• Research best marketing and communication practices
• Draft and deploy The Chamber’s weekly Eblasts
• Assist The Chamber with writing and creating content for Momentum, its monthly news magazine
• Research and apply best practices for The Chamber’s social media presence, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube
• Develop a bank of social media postings for use in Later
• Assist with drafting press releases for The Chamber and its affiliates
• Other duties and tasks as assigned, including ideas generated by the intern based on area of study
