Noteology, a Boutique Perfumery and Custom Perfume Studio - Downtown Scranton, PA, has an exciting internship opportunity at its flagship store in Scranton. Noteology is the first and only perfumery in Pennsylvania with people coming from around the globe to experience the patented Custom Perfume Studio experience. Noteology also owns a niche fragrance subscription box service and discovery platform, called Olfactif, that the intern will be involved in.

As an intern, the student will capture the essence of both brands with white background, lifestyle and AI generated photography that will be used on the websites, in ads and on social media for both Noteology and Olfactif. The student will work with our marketing team for guidance and direction as to styling, vibe, and usage of the photos as well as creating concept boards and holiday specific layouts.

This internship will not only benefit the student by giving them hands-on, real world small business experience, it will also help the company scale and grow to meet the growing demand for its products and services during a busy holiday season.

This opportunity is a traditional (semester-long) in-person internship.

Logistics:

• Fall 2023
• $10/hour for 50-100 hours total internship with flexible but set hours during our operating days of Tuesday-Saturday
• 537 Wyoming Ave., downtown Scranton PA location
• This opportunity will be in-person/on-site

Qualifications:

• Photography coursework or similar at any collegiate level
• Strong time and project management skills
• Excellent verbal communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong technology and Microsoft Suite skills  
• Interest in entrepreneurship and small business operations
• Valid driver’s license
• Lifting ability up to 50 lbs.
• Be able to stand for long periods of time, could be the entire daily interning period, up to 8 hours

Projects:

Throughout this process, you will have the ability to learn how to take a brand’s image and style and convey that through engaging photos.

• Learn how to style, use props, set up photo boards and lighting techniques to achieve the desired look and feel.
• Learn how to use filters and editing software to transform and enhance photos.
• Gain experience with Picmonkey, Canva and other photo editing software and become efficient with the use of an iPhone camera.
• Collaborate with staff on idea generation, layouts and mood boards.
• Log, color correct, tag, retouch, transfer, organize and maintain images and files for digital archive.
