This internship opportunity is supported by the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Internship Fund.

Students interested in participating in the Small Business Internship Fund must meet at least one of the following criteria:

 

  • Be a resident of Lackawanna County currently enrolled in a college or university
  • Be a currently enrolled student of a Lackawanna County college or university
  • Be a currently enrolled student of a Chamber member college or university: Clarks Summit University, Fortis Institute, Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, Johnson College, Keystone College, Lackawanna College, Luzerne County Community College, Marywood University, Misericordia University, Penn State Scranton, The University of Scranton, Wilkes University.

Summer 2019 Social Media Marketing Internship

 

Looking to improve your social media marketing skills? Sun Control Plus is a family owned business interested in utilizing your creativity and knowledge. Have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the operations manager and owner in managing their social media marketing campaign and attracting new clients.

Logistics:

  • Summer 2019, June Start
  • 10 hours per week / 10 weeks
  • $10/hour
  • Old Forge, PA

 

Qualifications

  • Coursework or relevant experience in Social Media Marketing and/or Graphic Design
  • Knowledge of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
  • Experience with Canva, Photoshop or other design software preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Projects:

  • Work collaboratively with operations manager and owner to advance social media marketing campaign
  • Coordinating and distributing social media posts on a weekly basis
  • Grow online social networks by increasing fan-base and interactions
  • Create constant contact emails
  • Develop press releases and blog posts
  • Ability to update on a WordPress website

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain insight of social media at the perspective of a local growing business
  • Have the opportunity to be creative and apply academic knowledge to given projects
  • Work collaboratively with business team to advance social media marketing efforts and share personal knowledge
