Lake Hideaway is a summer recreation area located on forty secluded acres, just 15 minutes from Scranton, near the Elmhurst Country Club. Lake Hideaway offers families unique opportunities to enjoy and explore the outdoors including a Swim Club for the summer season, and a party destination to please all generations!

The business is looking for a motivated student to help them take their event planning to the next level through the use of professional marketing content and organized event planning skills. Logistics:

  • May 20th Start, flexible; 15 week-long internship, flexible
  • 30 hrs/week, flexible
  • $15+/hour depending on experience and skillset
  • Onsite internship in Moscow, PA
  • For-credit optional*

* Requirement: Students are required to check with their college/university career development office to find out if any guidelines, must be followed and/or requirements must be met for the internship (health & safety, academic or other), by the student and/or the small business host.

Qualifications:

  • Business Administration, Communications/PR, Marketing, Hospitality Management, Entrepreneurship.
  • Firm understanding of different social media platforms and best practices.  
  • Proven, high-quality writing and content-creating skills
  • Strong customer service skills and a team player
  • Self-motivated and creative thinker
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT)

Projects: 

During their time working with Lake Hideaway, the intern will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that may include:

  • Managing the logistics of summer events such as scheduling, organizing different vendors, promotion, and execution.
  • Manage and create content for multiple business social media accounts. This will also include uploading new photos to revitalize the current website.
  • Work alongside the owner to manage employee hiring, scheduling, reviews, and the logistics of running a food establishment.
  • Depending on student interest, there is the potential to create or alter projects to fit their individual goals.
