Develop Your Marketing Skills with Northeastern Pennsylvania’s Regional Economic Development Marketing Agency! Penn's Northeast is Northeastern Pennsylvania's regional economic development agency, dedicated to attracting quality employers to Northeastern Pennsylvania. We serve as a single point of contact for businesses looking to relocate to or expand within Northeastern Pennsylvania, functioning as a liaison between local development partners, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and businesses seeking new facilities.

Logistics:

• May 2022 start; 10 to 15 week-long internship
• 12-15 hours/week estimated
• $10+/hour wage, based upon experience
• On-site internship at business location in Pittston (Luzerne County, Pennsylvania)*
• Hybrid internship (on-site & virtual) option potential*
• Tools provided!
• For-credit optional*

* Requirement: Students are required to check with their college/university career development office to find out if any guidelines, must be followed and/or requirements must be met for the internship (health & safety, academic or other), by the student and/or the small business host.

Qualifications:

• Coursework and/or experience in business development, marketing, advertising, or graphic design.
• Working knowledge of social media outlets and Microsoft Office a must.
• Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite, content management-based websites & email marketing a plus!
• An interest in learning about economic development.
• Solid writing, time management and communication skills.
• Strong desire to learn with a professional drive.

Projects:  At Penn's Northeast, you'll practice your marketing & business development skills and use insightful input to help expand your marketing experience. You'll gain knowledge of marketing strategies in economic development by:

• Learning to collaborate with the marketing team in all stages of marketing campaigns
• Copywriting for the company’s website, email marketing and social media outlets
• Learning many aspects of economic development
• Preparing reports on targeted industries, labor and wage data, demographics and quality of life for marketing materials, website and social media.
• Assisting the marketing team with daily tasks in an office setting
