PRSM Healthcare of Wellsboro is a premier medical scheduling business serving Gastroenterologists across the United States, providing the highest level of service to patients across the nation. They’re looking to grow and you could be the right fit! Do you have coursework in business, human resources, or finance completed? Would you like to learn more from a team of professionals, some MU alums, who are dedicated to making a difference? 

Grow your HR experience! Depending on your interest and skill level, grow your experience with hands-on work in HR projects, which could include benefits, payroll, performance management, on and off-boarding. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in a small, but mighty management team, and be part of a larger team of 50. 

Close to Mansfield University campus! This internship will take place as an in-person internship in Wellsboro during the Spring 2022 semester and is a paid opportunity.

Logistics:

  • Spring 2022 start; 10 to 15 week-long internship
  • 15-20 hours/week estimated
  • $12/hour wage
  • In-person internship* at the business location in Wellsboro (Tioga County, Pennsylvania)
  • Tools provided!
  • For-credit optional*

* Requirement: Students are required to check with their college/university career development office to find out if any guidelines, must be followed and/or requirements must be met for the internship (health & safety, academic or other), by the student and/or the small business host.

Qualifications:

  • College coursework in some of the following: business, operations, HR, finance, accounting, psychology, communications, or English. (Major is flexible)
  • Skilled in project management.
  • Skilled in online meeting platforms, including Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams.
  • Skilled in Google Suite, Microsoft Office products, specifically spreadsheets.
  • QuickBooks familiarity is a plus!
  • Professionalism, time management savvy, and great written and verbal communication skills are a must!
  • All college levels welcome to apply

Projects: Human Resources Project Experience                                 

You’ll be mentored by the Director of HR & Finance and gain overall knowledge of the business world and a small business environment through HR projects.

New Hire Recruitment

Learn the recruitment and onboarding process for our Patient Support Representatives from start to finish! This project will include:

  • Job posting
  • Candidate review and selection
  • Interviewing and decision making
  • Onboarding of new hires including new hire paperwork and payroll set-up

Market Salary Analysis

Help PRSM determine our competitive edge! Analyze both locally and nationally our wage and benefit information to help us stay ahead of the curve. This project will include:

  • Gather internal information on all job positions including pay, benefits, and job duties
  • Gather external information on a local and national scale for similar job positions
  • Compare and analyze information and present findings to Director of HR and help design new package if necessary

Employee Manager Finalization

Use PRSM’s internal software to enter and finalize all employee data and information. Work closely with IT and admin to roll out the final stage of this software! This project will include:

  • Entering and correcting all employee data and demographics
  • Monitor and oversee the use of Employee Manager to ensure it is working as designed
