The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce Late Summer/Fall Communications Internship

Be a part of the Chamber’s communications team and learn how to write copy for public relations and communications needs, as well as strengthen your business-related social media skills.

Interns in the communications division of The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce will learn how to apply classroom-learned skills in a real-life business setting working with the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Communications Manager.

Logistics:

• This is an in-person, on-site internship
• Summer/Fall 2021, may continue through Winter if desired
• Up to 4 hours a day, three days a week
• $10/hour wage
• Downtown Scranton, PA

Qualifications:

• Strong writing skills
• Strong social media platform skills
• Solid time management and self-motivation
• Great verbal/writing/communication skills

Projects:

• Research, draft and deploy the Chamber’s weekly Eblasts, including content and layout.
• Assist the Chamber with writing and content creation for Momentum, its monthly news magazine.
• Research and apply best practices for the Chamber’s social media presence, including Facebook, LinkedIn and other sites.
• Develop a bank of social media postings for use in Hootsuite.
• Research and drafts cohesive press releases for the Chamber and its affiliates. 
• Other duties and tasks as assigned, including ideas generated by the intern based on personal major course of study.
