This internship opportunity is supported by the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Internship Fund.  Students interested in participating in the Small Business Internship Fund must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of Lackawanna County currently enrolled in a college or university
  • Be a currently enrolled student of a Lackawanna County college or university
  • Be a currently enrolled student of a Chamber member college or university: Clarks Summit University, Fortis Institute, Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, Johnson College, Keystone College, Lackawanna College, Luzerne County Community College, Marywood University, Misericordia University, Penn State Scranton, The University of Scranton, Wilkes University.

Have you ever wanted to understand the inner workings of a fitness center, their marketing strategies, and how they manage memberships?

Learn how to set up customer relationship management (CRM) software to effectively manage current customers and utilize historical data to develop new marketing strategies. 

This is a short-term, remotely-completed internship.

Logistics:

  • 20-30 total hours estimated
  • $500 fixed fee (intern is responsible for their own self-employment taxes)
  • Project must be independently managed and completed by the intern.
  • Project must be completed within 2-4 weeks of start date.

Qualifications:

  • Marketing, General Business, Digital/IT background
  • Any level of coursework is acceptable (Freshman- Grad)
  • Expertise in social media management
  • Expertise in computer technology required
  • Online meeting capability required (Zoom)
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Creative thinker

Project:

Student will help NEPA Fit Club with the implementation of new marketing software. Through weekly meetings with developers and the owner, the student will learn how to install the software, upload current business information, and then test the automation of the software to ensure it works properly. This new software will help NEPA Fit Club collect and analyze customer data to develop best practices and tailor their services to customer needs.

Project must be completed within 2-4 weeks of start date.
