Spring 2020 Marketing Internship (Supported by the Small Business Internship Fund)

This internship opportunity is supported by the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Internship Fund. 

Students interested in participating in the Small Business Internship Fund must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of Lackawanna County currently enrolled in a college or university
  • Be a currently enrolled student of a Lackawanna County college or university
  • Be a currently enrolled student of a Chamber member college or university: Clarks Summit University, Fortis Institute, Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, Johnson College, Keystone College, Lackawanna College, Luzerne County Community College, Marywood University, Misericordia University, Penn State Scranton, The University of Scranton, Wilkes University.

LG Sonic US is a nationwide supplier/manufacture of Water Treatment Technology. Developed in the Netherlands, LG Sonic products provide an environmentally friendly solution to effectively control algae and biofouling in lakes, reservoirs, treatment plants, and other applications. Over the last decade, more than 10,000 LG Sonic products have been successfully installed in 52 different countries.

Logistics:

  • Spring 2020 Internship
  • Febraury Start, 10-12 weeks
  • $10/hr, school credit pending approval

Qualifications:

  • Interest in communications, marketing, advertising, social media
  • Confident with Microsoft Office 
  • Great at taking instruction and working autonomously

Projects:

  • Research of grants and funding opportunites available through EPA, State DEP and other sources
  • After learning about our technology, assist in customer follow-up through email and phone calls
  • Assist with content development and digital marketing management
  • Analyze the success of marketing campaigns through measurement

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain insights of marketing at the perspective of a small business
  • Work on projects that have national and global reach
  • Learn water treatment technology experience while being exposed to the general aspects of administration, compliance, planning and design of water management.
