Students interested in participating in the Small Business Internship Fund must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Be a resident of Lackawanna County currently enrolled in a college or university

• Be a currently enrolled student of a Lackawanna County college or university

• Be a currently enrolled student of a Chamber member college or university: Clarks Summit University, Fortis Institute, Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, Johnson College, Keystone College, Lackawanna College, Luzerne County Community College, Marywood University, Misericordia University, Penn State Scranton, The University of Scranton, Wilkes University.

Qualifications:

·Coursework or relevant experience in Marketing, Business, or Retail Management

· Knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram

· Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel

· Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas

· Ability to work Saturdays

Projects:

· Create and assist with social media posts

· Manage website inventory management

· Assist with purchase orders, vendor and customer relations, and analyzing the performance of inventory across multiple categories

· Assist with store product display, pricing and signage and with set up/display for baby showers

· Works as part of a team performing inventory counts and business marketing

Learning Objectives:

· Learn how to track and manage inventory levels

· Gain insights of social media at the perspective of a small business

· Utilize education/knowledge in real world retail setting

· Be creative and self-start projects
