Fall 2019 Social Media/Marketing Internship (Supported by the Small Business Internship Fund)

This internship opportunity is supported by the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Internship Fund. 

Students interested in participating in the Small Business Internship Fund must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of Lackawanna County currently enrolled in a college or university
  • Be a currently enrolled student of a Lackawanna County college or university
  • Be a currently enrolled student of a Chamber member college or university: Clarks Summit University, Fortis Institute, Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, Johnson College, Keystone College, Lackawanna College, Luzerne County Community College, Marywood University, Misericordia University, Penn State Scranton, The University of Scranton, Wilkes University.

Fit A.F is a local, health-based food preparation company seeking a qualified, motivated intern to design and manage their social media marketing campaign. Practice your skills and utilize your knowledge while working with a supportive, eager-to-learn team.

Logistics:

  • Fall 2019, October start
  • 10-15 hours per week / 10 weeks
  • $10/hour
  • Scranton/Carbondale locations

Qualifications:

  • Coursework or relevant experience in Social Media Marketing and/or Graphic Design
  • Junior or Senior in College
  • Knowledge of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
  • Experience with Canva, Photoshop or other design software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Projects:

  • Work with management to develop a social media marketing campaign
  • Coordinating and distributing social media posts on a weekly basis
  • Grow online social networks by increasing fan-base and interactions
  • Design graphics

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain insight of social media at the perspective of a local growing business
  • Have the opportunity to be creative and apply academic knowledge to given projects
  • Work collaboratively with business team to advance social media marketing efforts and share personal knowledge
