Fall 2019 Nutrition/Dietetic Internship (Supported by the Small Business Internship Fund)

This internship opportunity is supported by the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Internship Fund. 

Students interested in participating in the Small Business Internship Fund must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of Lackawanna County currently enrolled in a college or university
  • Be a currently enrolled student of a Lackawanna County college or university
  • Be a currently enrolled student of a Chamber member college or university: Clarks Summit University, Fortis Institute, Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, Johnson College, Keystone College, Lackawanna College, Luzerne County Community College, Marywood University, Misericordia University, Penn State Scranton, The University of Scranton, Wilkes University.

Logistics:

  • Fall 2019, October Start
  • 10- 15 hours per week / 10 weeks
  • $10/hour
  • Scranton/Carbondale locations

Qualifications:

  • A personal focus in health, wellness, or nutrition;
  • Experience in digital marketing or social media as a business tool;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;

Projects:

  • Assist in writing informative content to be used in E books and social media posts
  • Work with management to develop a social media marketing campaign
  • Grow online social networks by increasing fan-base and interactions

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the role of marketing in a fast-growing business.
  • Present innovative digital content which helps brand a small business as a big leader.
  • Contribute social media skills to the wellness platform.
