Students interested in participating in the Small Business Internship Fund must meet at least one of the following criteria: 
• Be a resident of Lackawanna County currently enrolled in a college or university. 
• Be a currently enrolled student of a Lackawanna County college or university.

Be a currently enrolled student of a Chamber member college or university: Clarks Summit University, Fortis Institute, Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, Johnson College, Keystone College, Lackawanna College, Luzerne County Community College, Marywood University, Misericordia University, Penn State Scranton, The University of Scranton, Wilkes University.

Candidate will be responsible for providing “five-star” customer service by working with the IT Project and Support Manager to support enterprise systems through user support, testing, and documentation. This position also works with the development team to provide fixes and enhancements to the multiple systems.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates that possess the following:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and provide software technical support
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to learn and apply IT related skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment or individually
  • Student pursuing degree in Computer Science (Junior or Senior preferred)

Projects:

  • Work with a team to install tools to aid in monitoring enterprise systems
  • Provide tier 1 technical support for local and remote users
  • Assist with modifying and testing of functional systems and reports
  • Assist with establishing and verifying standard operating procedures for new systems
  • Research and aid in implementing best practices for systems and security
  • Deploy new hardware and software when needed

Learning Objectives:

• Contribute to the server operating systems, network equipment setups and configure solutions
• Be able to explain a wide service menu for IT and application development
